Panjaur Wishes Everyone A Very Happy And Prosperous New Year 2012.

About this site
This website is dedicated to my late grand mother Shmt. Bhagwanti Kaur, and to those who inspired and supported me in my endeavour to lead a meaningful life. It all started when I left my village Panjaur in 1994 for Hoshiapur from where I embarked on my journey to the United States.

When I came to the States I met many people from my village. I did not know many of them and sadly for me some of them had little or faint knowledge about Panjaur, the place they belonged to and came from. I wondered how they would share their memories with their offspring. Even if these US-born kids desire to trace back to their ancestral village, parents have nothing to offer them on hand.

This website intends to provide information about village including legends associated with it, telephone directory, administrative structure and eminent personalities.

It gives me immense pleasure to let you know that a 50-bed state of the art hospital is being built in the village, thanks to some illustrious sons of the soil. We solicit your precious guidance and help towards this noble enterprise. Efforts are being taken to organise professional training for girls so that they can move ahead in life and choose their careers. Then there are some initiatives going on for a sewer system, children’s park, a nursing college, Free Computer Lab and a Football Academy.

We take this opportunity to thank all those who lived out of India and mobilised support and monetary contribution to uplift the village. The village can today boast of a high school while various sports tournaments and health clubs enliven its ambience.

It’s just the beginning and we are taking a small step towards serving as a one-stop information hub for the village. We understand there will be errors and discrepancies. Please help us to serve you better by sending us your invaluable suggestions. We will try our level best to incorporate them.

I am really thankful to my sweet little brother Jasdeep Singh who actually came up with the idea of this project. I would like to thank Gurpreet Singh, Baldeep (Bikka) from Panjaur and Parmar Studio Easpur and Arhan Writwik, Babul from Assam, who have done fantastic job.

With regards.

Harpreet Singh
